Natale ScalzoSenior Full-Stack Software Engineer

Engineering software.Exploring intelligence.

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer with 7 years of experience. I design and build applications, platforms and digital solutions, while exploring what artificial intelligence makes possible.

01About

Seven years of software, from the backend to the full stack.

What interests me most is what sits beneath the surface: how a system is organised, how its parts talk to each other, and how it stays understandable as it grows.

After graduating from the University of Naples Federico II, I built my experience across very different technology companies, working first on the backend and, over time, on entire applications.

Changing context several times taught me to adapt quickly to new stacks, teams and domains, and to value the architectural choices that keep a system easy to evolve.

Today I also work as an independent contractor, helping companies and professionals design and build web applications, services and integrations. Alongside that, I am studying AI applied to software.

02Experience

A path built on skills.

Seven years building software, from the backend to the full stack and on to artificial intelligence. Each step added tools and a new way of looking at problems.

  1. Chapter 01Foundations

    The foundations

A degree from the University of Naples Federico II: the method of software engineering, reasoning about problems before code.

    • Software engineering
  2. Chapter 02Backend

    A backend core

Services, APIs and domain logic in enterprise contexts, where reliability and maintainability matter as much as features. This is where my way of working took shape.

    • Java
    • Spring Boot
    • Go
    • Kotlin
    • Python
    • REST API
  3. Chapter 03Full-Stack

    Towards the full stack

From the API to the interface: designing data, logic and frontend together reduces friction and makes the product more coherent for its users.

    • Vue.js
    • Angular
    • JavaScript
    • HTML5
    • CSS3
  4. Chapter 04Architecture

    Systems that talk

Changing context, stack and domain often taught me to look at the system as a whole: how it is organised, how it communicates and how it stays simple as it grows.

    • Backend architecture
    • Systems integration
    • Enterprise applications
  5. Chapter 05Independent

    End-to-end projects

As an independent contractor I follow projects from idea to release: I listen to the problem, propose the technical solution and build it, as a single point of contact for the client.

    • Web applications
    • Process automation
    • REST API
  6. Chapter 06AIToday

    Beyond traditional software

My main area of study today: how artificial intelligence changes the way software is designed and written, and how to bring it into products reliably.

    • AI applied to software
    • Python
    • Automation

05Exploring AI

Beyond traditional software.

Artificial intelligence is changing how software is designed, written and used. It is my main area of study.

I want to understand where it brings real value and where it does not: I study how models fit into existing architectures, how they change the work of engineers, and how they can automate processes without giving up control and reliability.

  1. 01

    Assisted engineering

How language models change the daily work of software engineers: code analysis, refactoring, testing, documentation.

  2. 02

    Intelligent systems

How to bring models and agents into real applications while keeping reliability, cost control, observability and security.

  3. 03

    Automation

How to connect data, services and models to remove repetitive work from business processes.

Lab

The first experiment is in the works. I will publish it here, with code and notes on what worked and what did not.

06Services

How I can help.

I work as an independent contractor with companies, startups and professionals. Every engagement starts with a conversation about goals, not with a standard quote.

  • 01

    Custom Software Development

Software built around your processes, not the other way round. From requirements to release, with code your team can keep evolving.

  • 02

    Backend & API Development

Services and APIs designed to be reliable, documented and easy to integrate, so frontends, apps and partners can depend on them.

  • 03

    Full-Stack Web Applications

One partner for the whole application: interface, logic and data designed together, with less friction and clearer timelines.

  • 04

    Business Software & CRM

Internal tools and management software that reduce manual work and put information in the hands of the people who need it.

  • 05

    Websites & Digital Experiences

Fast, accessible and carefully crafted websites, designed to communicate clearly and to be found.

  • 06

    Software Integrations & Automation

Systems that talk to each other: integrations between existing applications and automations that remove repetitive steps.
